Sneakers are one of my favorite accessories to coordinate with an outfit, so I’m always trying to add something new to my sneaker collection. Sneaker styles are always changing, especially with high-end labels like Dior collaborating with brands like Nike and artists using sneakers as their canvas to create styles that are one-of-a-kind.
By the time the COVID-19 lockdown is over, I might have a list of must-have sneakers that never ends, but for now, here are my top 3 sneaker trends for the season...
1. Poppin Color Combos
A good mix of the right colors can make a sneaker pop. Colors are instrumental in good sneaker design. The right color combo can broaden people’s ideas of which color combos work well together. This season, I’m gravitating toward sneaker styles with pops of neon color like the inspo pics below.
2. Elevated Soles
You would think people who wear shoes with a platform sole are those who have issues with their height, but nope—not true. Platforms are making an impact on street style by adding that unexpected twist on classic styles like the inspo I pulled below. You can wear a pair of platform sneakers with mom jeans and a plain tee. They lowkey do the work for you.
3. Retros Return
Sneakers from the 90s and early 2000s are coming back around and creating nostalgic moments for millennials and new waves for Gen Z. Here are two retro styles that recently made a comeback that I luv, luv, luv!
Those are my favorite sneaker trends for spring... right now. I may be back with another list soon, considering all the time I have for online window shopping.
